Saying 'He does not...' and 'He is not...' in Halq'eméylem
To say He does not... or He is not... in Halq'eméylem, you use the pattern shown in (1). Examples of sentences made with this pattern are shown in (2).

He does/is not ...
(2) (a) Éwe lís xíxets'em tútl'ó.
He is not stinky.
(b) Éwe lís híkw tútl'ó.
He is not big.
(c) Éwe lís ímex tútl'ó.
He does not walk.
As usual, you can omit the tútl'ó, in context. You can also substitute thútl'ó (for she), in the same pattern, or add any other noun you like.
