Me
To say me in Halq'eméylem you use an ending -óx. If the verb ends in a t, then the t always becomes a th before this -óx ending.
(1) óxwest give it to
óxwesthóx give it to me [note how end of verb changes t --> th]
(2) kw'átset look at
kw'átsethóx look at me [note t --> th change]
You
If you is the receiver (object) of the action, you put an ending -óme onto the verb. As with -óx, if the verb ends in a t, then the t becomes a th before this - óme ending.
(3) óxwest give it to
óxwesthóme give it to you [note t --> th change]
(4) kw'átset look at
kw'átsethóme look at you [note t --> th change]
You may wonder how -óme is different from -chexw, since both of them translate into you in English. The difference is that -óme is used when you is the receiver of the action (someone is doing something to you), whereas -chexw is used when you is doer (subject).
