In our traditional way of life we used to hunt for deer with a net that the deer were driven into. Elk were sometimes hunted with dogs. We also used nets to catch geese and ducks, and we used to feed these birds in order to make them easier to catch. For fishing, we would often use a net on pole frames, going out on dark nights in canoes and using torches, a practice which is called "halx̲ewé" (or in English "pit-lamping").
