After a death in the family it is traditional to bathe and dress the body of a loved one as soon as possible, while still warm. The family then has three days to make arrangements for the burial, and on the fourth day after death you would traditionally have the burial, as well as a burning of food and clothing. On the fourth day the spirit of the loved one passes over to the other side. All the other family members are then brushed off with spruce bows by a spiritual healer.
